Nioxin's variety of ingredients and advanced technologies enhance the scalp environment, deliver nutrients to the scalp and follicle, and ultimately treat hair loss.

Nioxin Research Laboratories is a leading provider of natural skincare solutions that primarily treats scalp skin to restore hair loss. The 22-year-old company has won the prestigious Best Fine or Thinning Hair Care Product category at the Stylists Choice Awards for the last eight years in a row.

Treating the Scalp

For hair that is untreated, e.g. does not have a chemical service like colour, a perm, or hair relaxer on it, Activ-Renewal helps the complexion of the scalp and improves the look of scalp skin. Activ-Renewal can be found in Nioxin Thinning Systems 1, 2, 5, and 6.

For Systems 3, 4, 7, and 8—which are for hair types that are chemically enhanced with colour, perms and/or relaxers/straighteners—Nioxin has developed Glyco-Fused Complex. This combination of herbs and botanicals protects the scalp from these chemical services. Nioxin’s research shows that scalp skin clogged with toxins, chemicals and environmental buildup cannot grow new hair follicles. Glyco-Fused Complex also extends the vibrancy of professional hair colour, regardless of the brand used.

Enhancing Existing Hair

Clients who notice their existing strands of hair are thin, weak and have no volume benefit from BioAMP. Found in Systems 1, 2, 3, 4—for hair types that need volume—BioAmp deposits glycol-proteins inside the cuticle to strengthen the hair shaft and add thickness. This is what makes existing hair feel fuller and thicker while waiting for regrowth.

Those with thicker, coarse hair can still have thinning hair concerns. They have substantially stronger and thicker strands than their counterparts, but are still losing hair or have noticed hair loss is not replaced by new growth.

SmoothPlex is found in Systems 5, 6, 7 and 8 for those who need moisture in their hair. Silk amino acids and Kukui oil adds this needed moisture, shine and smoothes the hair shaft.

Delivering Necessary Nutrients

Nioxin’s Transactive Delivery System works in Systems 1, 3, 5 and 7—for those who have normal to thin-looking hair—as a time-release process. This ensures the proper amount of nutrients and vitamins are delivered to those who do not need large doses.

The Scalp Access Delivery System releases nutrients, antioxidants and proteins on a more consistent basis for those with noticeably thinning hair or those whose scalp is clearly visible. It is found in Systems 2, 4, 6 and 8. Because those with noticeable scalps have a greater risk for sunburn on their scalp skin, these systems also contain sunscreens to protect the skin and hair.

When starting a Nioxin Thinning Hair System, ensure the proper System is selected and that each of the 3-step products is used consistently.
