Review of Hair Growth Vitamins - Do they Work? The Pros and Cons of Taking Pills to Improve Hair Length
Many women want longer, fuller or thicker hair, and there are now various oral supplements available that claim to increase length fast. But are they effective?
Different hair types, whether Caucasian, Asian or Black (natural or processed) grow at different rates and require different treatment methods. But whatever the hair type, if you want it longer then taking vitamin tablets aimed at improving growth may be the answer. One such supplement on the market is Hair Stimulator Vitamins. What's In It and Where to Get It FromIngredients include Vitamin B, Folic Acid, Biotin, Zinc Oxide and others which together improve hair growth. Hair Stimulator Vitamins are available on ebay or through the company's website for less than $10 (around £7) for 60 tablets. Of course if it works for you then you need to buy more, but buying one to start with to see how effective it is is recommended. The pills will not cause hair to grow in other areas, only on the head, and it may also make nails stronger and skin look better. What It Looks LikeIt comes in a small, white plastic bottle containing 60 tablets (one month's supply). Each sandy-green coloured, oblong-shaped tablet has a herbal smell to it, and is to be taken twice a day with meals (breakfast and lunch is recommended). The pill doesn't taste wonderful, but it's not so unpleasant as to put you off. Taking It Every DayFor those that don't usually eat breakfast, taking the pills means eating something in the morning too because its better to take tablets with something in your stomach. You also have to remember to carry it with you everywhere so that when you have lunch (at work, restaurants etc) you can take it at the same time. This may become inconvenient, especially if you don't want to discuss what the pills are with curious friends. Before one bottle finishes, maybe when there's two weeks worth of pills left, it is best to purchase more at that stage because stopping and starting the medication will disrupt the growth process. Is It Safe?Buying a product over the internet without prescription from the doctor can be risky. You could be sold something that has no medical value whatsoever or even something dangerous to your health, so discretion is necessary and you take it at your own risk. However, the ingredients in Hair Stimulator Vitamins are present in most hair growth and other supplements so there's nothing unsual there to worry about, and after taking it for two months there were no unusual side-effects. The website and the bottle look basic, but the makers claim they're spending less on packaging and more on the product, and the payment process was safe and secure. Does It Work? The website claims that you should see a difference after a month with up to an inch of growth during that time, double the normal hair growth rate. Some users may even notice a change after two weeks. Of course there's the placebo effect to consider, whereby because you're told your hair should be growing you imagine it is. After taking the pills for two months there was a little noticeable growth especially at the back, but although Hair Stimulator Vitamins also says it reduces hair breakage and increases hair strength, there was still the same amount of hair coming off on the comb after two months. This could be down to other factors because taking hair growth pills won't be as effective if other hair care methods aren't in place, so the right moisturizer, washing cycle, shampoo and conditioner, deep conditioning treatments and good diet should also be a regular practice. And for Black hair, taking care to follow correct hair care procedures before sleeping (wrapping, twisting etc) will reduce breakage. There are many success stories about how well the product works both on the product's site and after a quick Google search. Many women report that the pills work best the longer you take it, and after a year nearly all users reported growth. (Maybe after one year's usage results will be better for this reviewer). ConclusionIf you've tried everything else to improve hair growth with little success then you've got nothing to lose by trying Hair Stimulator Vitamins; it's relatively cheap and it works for most people. The thing to remember is that the longer you take it, the more effective it will be. Sources:
